06 September 2009: Michael Yon has published today another gem of an analysis regarding the war in Afghanistan, why we're there, why we remain and the perils inherent in what is to come. I absolutely concur with Yon's analysis, we have been and continue to be on the losing side of the war in Afghanistan, as much so as we are losing it right here at home and in more ways than are currently being considered. Without a massive infusion (surge) of troops, military hardware and capabilities backed by a renewed national will manifest in the requisite application of brute force, we are wasting our precious youth and our treasury. It does not have to be this way and it is up to the American people to determine a different outcome than that being foreseen by Michael Yon and others.
