Freeman Jr. has requested that his selection to be Chairman of the National Intelligence Council not proceed. Director Blair accepted Ambassador Freeman’s decision with regret.

UPDATE 24 February 2009: Sammy Benoit in today's American Thinker has an article which appears to my eyes to be the first glimpse of the potential source of the anticipated "malicious intelligence" to come from within the U.S. Government against the State of Israel referenced below and as published on the mainpage of the Northeast Intelligence Network website.

The journal is filled with anti-Israel messages that are beyond even the broadest definition of mainstream of U.S. thinking on the region. As the President of the organization responsible for this vicious and biased journal, the appointment of Freeman as a gatekeeper for U.S. intelligence is a very disturbing matter."

"The Chairman of the National Intelligence Council is just like the editor of a journal. He must review, edit, add context to, and decide what to present to the President in terms of good intelligence."
I was immediately drawn to the fact that Sammy Benoit used the adjective "vicious" twice and capped that usage with the noun "viciousness." Both the adjective and noun forms of the words are synonyms of the word "malicious/maliciousness" I absolutely concur with Sammy Benoit's bottom line assessment that "the appointment of [Chas] Freeman to "edit" the intelligence information of the United States a very disturbing matter." Not only is this appointment disturbing, but as stated above, the malicious/vicious nature of the agenda driving what is to become of American relations with the State of Israel has been well-planned in advance. This appointment serves as an alarm for the execution of that agenda. We have been warned. What, if anything, can we who support/bless Israel do about it?

29 January 2009: Northeast Intelligence Director Doug Hagmann has published a new article on our mainpage entitled "Obama gives hope to terrorists." The "dire consequences for the security of the United States and more ominous consequences for survival of Israel and the balance of power in the Middle East" that Doug cites should resonate in multiple harmonics with all American patriots in much the same way as our listening to The Star Spangled Banner or The Battle Hymn of the Republic would resonate within each of us.

25 January 2009: Within the quote from Genesis above, which is primarily known as the "Abrahamic Covenant," very probably lies the destiny of the United States of America should our government "curse" the State of Israel and abandon her to face the numerous and very powerful existential threats alone. That covenant made by the Lord was unconditional and made eternal through the unilateral sealing of it by God Himself as recorded in Genesis 15.
Blessings or curses are rendered unto specific individuals or entire nations depending on whether they bless or curse Israel. This is the extremely perilous domain into which the United States of America has recently been taken by the dictum of a world-socialist elite who have in the past decade determined our national policy with respect to Israel.
Concern over these passages as they could relate to the United States of America has been a great concern ever since it became increasingly evident that the U.S. was imposing a political will upon that which the Lord had ordained as His Will for Israel and His people and the Land given to them. The reestablishment of the State of Israel in 1948, exactly as foretold in Deuteronomy 30:1-10, Jeremiah 32:36-44 and Ezekiel 36 and 37, are prophecy in the process of a literal fulfillment. These facts are an unmistakable indicator of where planet earth resides within the prophetic timeline.
On 31 December 2008 there was published on the mainpage of the Northeast Intelligence Network an article titled "U.S. Intelligence Official about Israel: “This is just the beginning.” I implore all concerned with this issue to read or re-read that article. Keep reading and rereading it. Keep it very fresh in your mind in the coming days of the new Obama Administration; collate it with respect to what I wrote one week ago today. I assure you that the statements attributed to the now retired, but formerly highly-placed U.S. intelligence official are very, very real. The aforementioned world-socialst elite have very robust plans upon which they will execute an abandonment of the State of Israel as an American ally. A large part of this coming abandonment will come in the form of "malicious intelligence." Perhaps now the off-the-cuff "mark my words" commentary of last year by now Vice President Joseph Biden will take on a new resonance with some of you readers?
In a current newspapaer report from the Associated Press we learn via a leak to that alleged news agency about an unnanounced trip that on Wednesday of this week will place Barack Obama's special envory, George J. Mitchell in Israel. Mr Mitchell was just hand-picked and placed into his role as the special envoy this past Thursday and will arrive in Israel to continue to apply American political pressure upon the lame duck government of Israeli PM Ehud Olmert not to destroy the Hamas terrorists in Gaza Strip but to isolate them in a vain effort to sustain the current unilateral ceasefire imposed upon the IDF. Instead of preventing a war these deceived men are creating the conditions for a much larger one. One cannot help but to recall the alleged peace conferences of Municn in 1938 when watching these men in 2008. Those who learn nothing from history condemn all of us to repeat it.
It is my opinion that the events we are witnessing at this time are setting the stage for the next great war in the Middle East, a war described in detail in Psalm 83. Ok correct me if I am wrong but isn't this an act of treason to consorting with the enemy? AND why would President aka give the Iranians an apology for our past? I just don't get it no more Sean. I am almost to the point of moving my Family to the back woods of America, setting up a homestead in the mountains and protect them as best I can. This government is not my government. The US Constitution is the only thing I can support here now.
I know I need not give up but I am to the financial point of having to drop back to regroup just to hold my own.

If the reports of Obama's contacts with iran prior to the election are true, and there's nothing to refute them atthis time, then, yes the Logan Act would specifically apply once again. Rembmer Obama did this previously with the government of Iraq well prior to being elected.
But, hey, he's the false messiah, "The One", so he is obviously above the Law.
I did notice that he does not listen to anyone and if anyone does try to give him suggestions he starts the rounds of martinis and drinks and says' "I am the one who is elected and I will do it my way." Man are we in deep doo doo.

Getting back to the other issue I raised in my comment above, it would appear that well prior to the election Barack Hussein Obama was in violation of the Logan Act and thus committed criminal acts in violation of 18 U.S.C.A. § 953 [1948] the penalty for which is a fine, imprisionment for 3 years or both.

Three thoughts...
1) Nothing has changed with administrations except now there is an acceleration - an acceleration permitted by years of groundwork. The goal, destruction of Israel, or if you prefer, "The creation of palestine, with two states living side-by-side in peace," is the same.
2) mitchell's trip just happens to be during the new lunar crescent. That ain't no coincidence. bush used to frequently do the same thing, going so far as to dance the ardha with the saudis under the crescent moon.
3) And yeah, your spidey senses that tell you something is about to happen, are correct.

On item #1 you are correct - this crazy two state "solution" has been an ongoing objective of the secular humanist elite in the US and EU.
Item #2 needs to have a bona fide citation to make it a fact.
Item #3. It's not my "spidey" senses that are telling me what is coming, but the sum of Biblical prophecy and eschatological research, i.e. the Word of God.
This war will eventually become much larger than it is today. President Obama will help make it so because he will attempt to pacify our enemy. One problem is that he and many others underestimate how many enemies we have. The common belief is that we only face a few thousand armed enemies and we can convince the majority of the population in that region to turn on them. This can be done, but by strength and force, not by backing off. Osama said it himself. They will back the stronger horse. Retreating before being openly defeated is not a sign of strength.
With money being shipped to Gaza and HAMAS, is that not what we JUST charged the Holyland Foundation in doing with their charity in supporting Hamas, A TERROR GROUP? how is this government different now? And with this pledge of fund is that not dropping Israel as an allie and supporting them? The President is just exactly what he said he was not. he is Muslim and sympathetic to Islam. Also PATHETIC. He is doing all this while WE THE SHEEPLE are worried about all the money he is spending and Pelosi jumping up and down like aerobics during his lie er I mean speech the other night.
The correct question to ask is "Why DID America Abandon Israel?" Then the next question is "What will the punishment be?" Hint: you're beginning to see it already.

The United States of America has not completely abandoned the State of Israel. That we're still here to chat about it is all the proof we need.
However, that's not to say that the U.S. of A. as led by the agenda of the political elite has not been going down this Genesis 3 path to a Divine judgement and cursing with much greater speed since 1993.
We The People are responsible for the leaders we elect, we are responsible for the policies that we allow those leaders put into effect. It's really as simple as that. If America goes down the tubes due to our failure to bless Israel, it will be no fault but our own because we did not bring it to a halt.
There is a very misguided humanist bent that allows our government to supply the enemies of Israel with the tools they need to continue their religious-based hatred. We're basically playing both sides which is a secular mind-set and a non-starter doomed to failure from the get-go.
As for the Jerusalem Post report... I've been saying that for about five years now. It's not news, it's a validated all-source intelligence assessment.

It might be good to make sure we are right with God. According to a Minister, David Wilkerson, in NYC, The person the Movie " The Cross and the Switchblade" there is an imminent Chastisement that will be worldwide coming as a Judgment from God. As he had his congregation praying for 6 weeks for our country before 9/11 and had them making PBJ sandwiches on 9/10/01 without knowing the reasons I would trust what he has to say and first prepare the soul then prepare the necessary supplies for the ministering to others and only then get provisions for the body to survive if we live through what is coming.

Today when I go for lunch I'll pass by the largest DHS site in our state. Literally two minutes up the road the largest assembly of al-qaeda (more specifically al-shebab) operate openly, fearlessly, and with raw, naked jihad. I can patronize any one of a dozen businesses knowing that money will go to fund jihad overseas and also to kill our troops.
And let me tell you from personal 1:1 experience, these guys are 1000 times smarter and more sophistictaed than any DHS person ever thought of being.
This community is EXPLODING in population - four wives with three kids each - and not a damn thing is being done.
There also plenty of Minnesota plates there too - from half a continent away. I expect the benefit of that will be known shortly.
Again this is by design - the same as abandoning Israel is done by design.
